This site is a recounting of a young woman's quest to find out if she is really meant to be a chef. She cannot afford culinary school at the moment, nor does she want to deal with student loans.
She currently works as a computer geek, in the financial industry, before that it was several years in the e-commerce industry. It is a job that picked her by chance, a luck of the draw, being in the right place at the right time. She has been in the industry for six years, and has enjoyed her job.
This is her personal tale of her taking a leap and jumping into the kitchen of an upscale restaurant, armed with nothing but some basic knife skills. No schooling. No Spanish. No experience. Just a strong hunch and an even stronger drive to learn if the culinary life is what she really is supposed to be doing, if indeed her hunch is correct. |
